Doctor of Philosophy in Intercultural Studies (PhD)

• Demonstrated capability for languages (biblical research or field languages) other than English. The capability can be demonstrated by transcripts showing 12 hours (college or graduate) of language study (normally in a single language) with a grade of ¡°B¡± or better, or by documented proficiency in any language(s) or other research tools necessary for the dissertation research.
• GRE score of 600 on the verbal section, with a 5 on the analytical section. The analytical section is a writing part of the exam and is graded 0-6.
• A Miller Analogies Test score of 441

• For applicants whose native language is other than English, a TOEFL score of 600 (250 computer based) or an IELTS score of 8.0
• Three years of ministry experience, normally in a culture or subculture different form the applicant¡¯s home culture

Doctor of Ministry (DMIN)

• A leading lay official in your present church
• Your immediate supervisor in ministerial appointment (e.g., your District Superintendent)

• Master of Divinity degree or its educational equivalent from an accredited seminary. The educational equivalent is 75 hours of masters-level work with 30 hours in Bible, Theology and Church History, including at least one completed masters degree.
• 3.00 / 4.00 GPA
• Miller Analogies Test (MAT) score of 425
• Letter of congregational or institutional approval
• Three years full-time ministry experience subsequent to the master¡¯s degree
• For applicants whose native language is other than English, a TOEFL score of 550 (219 computer) or an IELTS score of 7.5
• Access to the Internet ? registration, course schedules, syllabi and much of the program¡¯s communication is online
• A research paper is to be submitted if: you are an international student, your grade point average in previous graduate work is less than 3.00 / 4.00 and/or your MAT score is less then 60. The Dmin Research Paper Guidelines are located on the web.

Additional Requirements for Beeson Pastor and Beeson International Leaders Track

Requirements for admission include (but are not limited to):
• Application

• Four references
• Bachelor's Degree and minimum 2.75 / 4.0 GPA
• Applicants whose GPA falls between a 2.75 and a 2.5 may be admitted on a ¡°reduced load¡± basis
• Copies of course-by-course official transcripts (English translation preferred) from all schools attended since high school
• For students whose first language is not English,
• A minimum TOEFL score of 550 (213 computer based) or IELTS score of 7.5 is required for admission to the certificate, master of arts, master of divinity and doctor of ministry degree programs.
• (This may be waived for students who have completed a post-secondary degree at an institution in which the primary language of instruction is English.)
• A minimum TOEFL score of 575 (231 computer based) IELTS score of 7.5 is required for the master of theology and doctor of missiology degree programs
• A minimum TOEFL score of 600 (250 computer based) IELTS score of 8.0 is required for the doctor of philosophy degree program

More information on the TOEFL exam can be found on their website at www.toefl.org. Asbury ¡¯s test code is 1020.
• A minimum IELTS score of 7.0 is required for the Masters programs and the Doctor of Missiology program
