¡á ENTC Prepares professors and teachers of English to speakers of other languages in colleges and universities, two year colleges, and teachers colleges. M.A., Ad. Crt., Ph.D.

¡á TESC Advanced Certificate Program in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL). This 15-point post baccalaureate program is designed for those who are interested in teaching English abroad or pursuing a new career in teaching English as a second or foreign language. It does not offer New York State certification. Candidates who have completed the advanced certificate program will be qualified to teach English as a second/ foreign language at all levels internationally and in adult programs, independent schools, and language schools in the United States. Students not seeking certification should have completed a bachelor¡¯s degree with a major in one of the liberal arts or sciences with a minimum GPA of 3.0. They may enroll in the M.A. Program in TESOL: College and Adults.

All students seeking a master¡¯s degree with certification should have completed a bachelor¡¯s degree with a major in one of the liberal arts or sciences. In addition, students must have taken as part of their general education course work or an equivalent for 6 points in mathematics, science, and social studies, and 12 points of a language other than English or an
equivalent of language proficiency.

Students not seeking certification should have completed a bachelor¡¯s degree with a major in one of the liberal arts or sciences. They may enroll in the M.A.
Program in TESOL: College and Adults.
