조지타운 대학은 워싱턴 DC 인근에 위치한 사립대학으로, 1789년에 John Carroll 대주교에
의해 설립된 미국에서 가장 오래됐으면서 가장 권위있는 가톨릭 계열 대학이자 예수회 계열
대학이다. 재학생 총수는 6,719명에 학부생은 4,193명이다. 조지타운 대학은 48개의 학사학위
과정을 제공하는 것은 물론, 학생이 자신의 학업 과정을 직접 계획할 수도 있다. 대학의
메인 캠퍼스는 약 100에이커로, 58개 이상의 건물이 들어서 있다. 학생의 약 80%는 기숙사에
거주하는데, 2003년에 완료된 Southwest Quadrangle Project에 따라 784명이 기숙할 수
있는 공간이 새로 조성되었다. 2005년에는 교내 최초의 공연센터가 완공됐고, 경영대학원
전용 캠퍼스, 통합 과학센터 건축과 체육시설 확충 등의 장기 프로젝트가 진행중이다.
