Admissions Process and Deadlines

Note: All April 20 application deadlines have been extended to April 26.

Admissions decisions are made by the Admissions Committee on a rolling basis except for applicants to the Doctor of Ministry program, who are notified in early June. Decisions are generally available within four weeks.

Applications for a degree program or Special Student status follow a four-step process:

1.Complete your application on-line or on paper, including:

a.The application form, which must be complete and signed

b.The application fee (varies for international applicants)

c.Written essays and/or writing samples

d.Recommendations ( plus two institutional endorsements for international students)

e.Official transcripts

f.English proficiency scores (IELTS or TOEFL) for international applicants

2.Admissions staff review materials for completeness and determine whether an interview will be required.  If necessary, an interview is scheduled at a time convenient to you.

3.The Admissions Committee (composed of full time Andover Newton faculty) reviews your completed application, including results of any interview.  In the case of DMin applicants, candidates must also be accepted by a faculty advisor.

4.Admissions staff notify you of the Committee¡¯s decision, usually within four weeks or in early June for DMin applicants and applicants without a Bachelor¡¯s degree
